Brief info

Dr. Scarborough, a board-certified family physician, has been practicing medicine in the Middle Georgia Community since 1998.

She grew up on a South Georgia farm in Colquitt County. Living on the family farm brought a dedication to hard work with a strong sense of family connections. Those core values have allowed her to grow as a dedicated medical professional, build a strong medical team and develop personal relationships with her patients.

Dr. Scarborough became interested in medicine during her undergraduate studies at Valdosta State University after a prolonged illness. It was during this time the pursuit of medicine became her passion and focus. After graduating from college, she attended Mercer University School of Medicine and became the President of her graduating medical class in 1998. Dr. Scarborough completed her first year of residency Carillion Medical in Roanoke, Virginia. She returned to Macon to complete her family practice residency training at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. After residency training, she began private practice in Macon. The field of family practice provided a broad field of study in medicine while presenting the opportunity to build caring relationships with patients of all ages and their families while guiding them in their health care needs.

In the community, Dr. Scarborough currently serves as the Vice President of the Bibb County Medical Society and serves on the board of Central Georgia Health Network. She has worked as Associate Clinical Professor with the Medical Center Residency program, volunteered with the Mentor Project and served as the Children’s Church Director of her local church.
